Day 2: Arrival in Amsterdam

Upon arrival in Amsterdam, we are met by our professional tour guide and begin our sightseeing with a short city tour before embarking on our floating hotel for the following 7 - nights.

Day 3: Enkhuizen

The Zuiderzee Museum in Enkhuizen vividly brings to life the stories of the people who once lived along the shores of the Zuiderzee. Visitors can immerse themselves in the sights, sounds, and scents of everyday life before the Afsluitdijk transformed the inland sea into the IJsselmeer in 1932. The museum’s outdoor section showcases historic buildings, while the indoor museum features thematic exhibitions focusing on the region’s history, crafts, and community life. Following the museum visit, the tour continues with a walk to the Koepoort in Middelburg, a Baroque city gate built in 1735. As the last remaining gate of the original eight, it offers a picturesque starting point for a stroll along the historic stronghold. We return to the ship for dinner.

Day 4: Nijmegen

We’ll start the day with a trip to the Hanseatic city Nijmegen, the oldest city in the Netherlands and the first to be recognized as such in Roman times. It is one of the most beautiful and historic cities in The Netherlands. We’ll enjoy a walking tour of the city, visit the Jewish Memorial, the beautiful Weigh House (De Waag), and the 13thcentury Roman Gothic Cathedral, “Stevenskerk.” We will visit the Grote Markt, a lovely square to enjoy lunch and stroll amidst the local ambiance before returning to the ship for dinner.

Day 5: Bruges, Ghent

This morning we’ll drive to Bruges, Belgium, a UNESCO World Heritage medieval city considered one of the oldest and best-preserved cities in Europe. We’ll stroll through its winding streets, admire its ancient buildings, visit the impressive and charming market square, then continue to the Cathedral of the Holy Blood (Cathédrale du SaintSang), where tradition holds that a vial containing a drop of Jesus’ blood is housed. After lunch (not included – lunch in the city at traveler’s expense), we will visit the local Belgium chocolate museum to see how the famous Belgium chocolate is made and enjoy some complimentary samples. We continue to the Flemish city of Ghent and take a walking tour of the old town established in the Middle Ages. We’ll be impressed by the city’s main sights: St. Bavo’s cathedral, the ancient buildings dating back to the 12th to 17th centuries along the canals, and the town hall. We return to the ship for dinner.

Day 6: Antwerp

Today we will visit the City of Diamonds, beginning with the magnificent Central Railway Station and a tour of the fascinating Museum of Prints and Printing (Museum Plantin-Moretus). Then we enjoy lunch on our own and shopping time in Antwerp’s historic Grote Markt (“Great Market”) square in the heart of the old city. Afterward, we will tour the stunning Cathedral of Our Lady (which contains paintings by Rubens) before returning to the ship for dinner.

Day 7:Rotterdam, Dordrecht

This morning, we will take in the urban side of Rotterdam, the second-largest city in the Netherlands. While the town dates back to 1270, today it is known for its modern architecture. We will see the impressive Erasmus Bridge on our way to enjoy the 200-year old Trompenburg Gardens & Arboretum. This morning, we enjoy an oasis of peace in God’s beautiful creation on this former country estate covering 20 acres of magnificent trees, beautiful gardens, and walking paths. Linger in their cozy tea room “De Uithoek” (The Far Corner) to enjoy a spot of tea on their shady terrace. This afternoon we sail to Dordrecht, the oldest city in Holland on a guided walking tour through its picturesque alleyways and beautiful historical city center. Located in the province of Zuid-Holland, this city boasts over 1000 monuments, each adding to its unique appearance and charming ambiance. You will be captivated by the blend of ancient architecture and vibrant local life. We return to the ship for dinner.

Day 8: Amsterdam

After breakfast, we will visit the world-famous Keukenhof, known as the Garden of Europe, with its seven million flower bulbs planted yearly, where we can stroll by gorgeous tulip flower beds around a picture-perfect lake, that through the most beautifully manicured gardens. Returning to the ship for lunch. Later this afternoon, we will complete the city tour. Amsterdam, the capital city of the Netherlands, renowned for its picturesque canals, historic architecture, and vibrant cultural scene. Founded in the late 12th century as a small fishing village, it has grown into a major international hub for finance, trade, and tourism. We will enjoy a scenic Canal Cruise, the best way to truly appreciate the beautiful homes lining the waterways and the city’s hidden alleyways. We enjoy our final dinner aboard our lovely River Cruise ship.

Day 9: Amsterdam

After breakfast, we disembark and travelers depart for their trip back to the U.S.A.
