Learn about its colorful folklore and the tragedies of war as you visit the heart of Old Town Kraków, slice through the Carpathians and see all the highlights of Prague, Budapest, Berlin, Vienna and more!

Day 1 – Thursday, October 9:
Welcome to Berlin


Today we arrive in Berlin. We make our way through
customs and security and transfer to our motor coach.
We then drive to our hotel for our welcome dinner
(included) and overnight in Berlin.

Day 2 – Friday, October 10:
Explore Bustling Berlin

Explore an iconic landmark of Berlin during an

experience at the Berlin TV Tower. We enjoy inspiring 360° views of the city and Spree River. We will then see the neo-Renaissance Reichstag, the Tiergarten, Brandenburg Gate and Unter den Linden with a local guide during our included sightseeing tour. Afterwards, we enjoy some free time exploring the city on our own. Perhaps you will see the remnants of the Berlin Wall, visit the infamous Checkpoint Charlie, and watch the sun go down and the lights come up in this vibrant city. Dinner is on your own this evening, and overnight is at our hotel in Berlin.

Day 3 – Saturday, October 11:

Journey to PoznaÅ„ and on to Warsaw

We travel through patchwork farm landscapes

stopping in PoznaÅ„, before arriving in the modern Polish capital, Warsaw, where we’ll spend the next two nights. Embrace the youthful verve of a city that has triumphed over repeated conquests and the shackles of communism, then spend the evening at leisure

exploring the sights. We check in to our hotel, situated near the Warsaw Uprising Museum and near the remains of the ghetto walls, if you’d like to dive deeper into the area’s tragic history. Dinner is on your own this evening, and overnight is at our hotel in Berlin

Day 4 – Sunday, October 12: Discover Historic Warsaw, Polin Museum

This morning we explore Warsaw’s colourful historic centre, including the Old Town, which the Nazis destroyed in retaliation for the brave Warsaw Uprising. We’ll also see the former Warsaw Ghetto, where hundreds of thousands of Polish Jews were imprisoned during the German occupation, tragically immortalized

in the poignant Roman Polanski film ‘The Pianist’. We will also visit the Polin Museum and then spend the rest of the day exploring the city’s sights on our own. You may consider a visit to the Wilanów Palace, a priceless

testimony to the splendour of Poland’s royal past, or treat yourself to a Chopin recital, before joining your travel companions this evening for a delicious Regional Dinner at a local restaurant (included).

Day 5 – Monday, October 13:

Auschwitz and Kraków, Dive Into Culture

​

Today we journey south from Warsaw and to the Auschwitz Memorial Site of the former Concentration Camp, a poignant reminder of one of the greatest tragedies of World War II. Our visit includes a guided tour of Auschwitz. We then continue to the enchanting city of Kraków. Dinner is on your own this evening, and overnight is at our hotel in Kraków.

Day 6 – Tuesday, October 14:

See the Sights of Kraków

We take to the beautiful streets of Kraków, joining a Local Specialist for a walking tour of the medieval Old Town and its expansive town square. We then visit the Mariacki Church, with its hourly trumpet call, see Wawel Castle, for centuries the residence of Polish royalty, then enjoy panoramic views of the city from Wawel Hill. The rest of the day is ours to explore the sights on our own. You may consider joining an Optional Experience to the Wieliczka Salt Mine, renowned as the Underground Salt Cathedral of Poland and home to an entire chapel carved from rock salt, as well as dozens of sculptures. Enjoy a slice of Polish  Sernik Babci on the Old Town Square or visit a traditional milk bar. Dinner is on your own this evening, but perhaps join your fellow travel companions for delicious home cooked Polish food and a night of dance and music at the Farmhouse Dinner and Polka Party.

Day 7 – Wednesday, October 15:

Venture through Slovakia to Budapest

Today we travel through three countries as we travel from Poland, through Slovakia’s Tatra mountains, and into Hungary as we arrive in beautiful Budapest later this afternoon. This evening, we enjoy a scenic river cruise with dinner (included) along the beautiful Danube.

Day 8 – Thursday, October 16: Uncover the Treasures of Budapest, Connect with Locals

We join a local guide for a sightseeing tour, uncovering Budapest’s treasures and beauty. We spend the rest of the day exploring on our own or consider a trip to Szentendre, a lively riverside town renowned for its art life. This evening, we connect with locals and join the

Schieszl family for dinner (included) and hear the story of their winery at our Be My Guest experience.

Day 9 – Friday, October 17: Off to Vienna Stays with Stories

Today, leave beautiful Budapest, cross the hilly

Transdanubia region – its orchards and vineyards providing a picturesque backdrop as we continue along the path of the Danube and stop in the former trade-route town of GyÅ‘r. We then amble along Baross Gábor Street and admire the Baroque façades, before departing to Vienna, your home for the next two nights.

Upon arrival, we meet the winemakers at Cobenzl, for a tasting of their high-quality sustainable wines. Dinner is on your own this evening, and overnight is at our hotel in Vienna.

Day 10 – Saturday, October 18:

Admire Vibrant Vienna Tread in the footsteps of Mozart, Haydn, and Strauss.

We’ll admire Vienna’s imperial elegance and take a guided walk through the Vienna of the Future to see the creative and innovative projects tackling environmental protection in the city. We then see the Parliament Building with its marble statues, the 13th-century

Hofburg Palace, State Opera House and St. Stephen’s Cathedral. We will spend the rest of the day discovering the city at our own pace. You may consider joining an Optional Experience to a famous local hostelry for

traditional Austrian cuisine and a musical performance. Dinner is on your own this evening, and overnight is at our hotel in Vienna.

Day 11 – Sunday, October 19: Venture to Prague

​

Today, we travel north to the Czech Republic and visit Tábor, once a Hussite stronghold. This afternoon, we will arrive in the remarkable city of Prague. Dinner (included) and overnight is at our hotel in Prague.

Day 12 – Monday, October 20:

The Old Town and More in Prague

​

Join a local guide this morning for an exploration of the city’s labyrinthine lanes, and beautiful squares. Admire the impressive St. Vitus Cathedral, set within the 1,000-year-old Prague Castle, cross the Vltava to the Old Town Square and view the 14th-century

Astronomical Clock, with its magical hourly Walk of the Apostles. Spend the rest of the day wandering the streets of the Old Town or take a relaxing lunch cruise on the Vltava. Dinner is on your own this evening, and overnight is at our hotel in Prague.

Day 13 – Tuesday, October 21:

Journey to Frankfurt

​

We leave the picture-perfect city of Prague behind and

journey west across the German border today, before

arriving in cosmopolitan Frankfurt for our final night. We

spend the last evening of our Bohemian adventure with

our travel companions for a Farewell Dinner (included)

at a local Frankfurter restaurant.

Day 14 – Wednesday, October 22:

Farewell Frankfurt

Our time together has come to an end. After breakfast,

we board our motorcoach one last time to transfer to

the airport for our flight home, with many stories and

memories to share of our unforgettable adventure.
