At Cathedral Travel we love teaching and connecting people with the joy of travel. This is part of all of our travel experiences. Our goal is to immerse you in the people and places we meet at the intersection of faith and history. There are so many compelling stories to tell and footsteps to follow. We thought that it would be fun to continue this journey of discovery even when we are not traveling abroad.
This new year we are planning four classes/experiences that are open to all. They will be one hour in length with an optional follow up time for Q & A. They are free of charge unless there is an entrance fee.

Have you ever considered or dreamed of walking the Camino de Santiago? For over a thousand years this pilgrimage has been traversed by old and young alike. Last fall, 2023, Sarah and I trekked over 100 kilometers via the Portuguese Route and found it exhilarating. We started with a notion that grew into a possibility and finally a reality. If you have traveled on one of the Cathedral Travel tours you know the joy Sarah brings by leading the group in exercise/movement. She has led stretches in front of the Brandenburg Gate in Berlin, on the plateau of Qumran in Israel, along the Canals of Venice, to name a few memorable locations. This class will give you a routine that you can replicate in your daily life and tips for healthy living.
Native American Museum

‘HoÄ‹okata Ṫi Museum

Located in Shakopee, Minnesota - a suburb of Minneapolis - the HoÄ‹okata Ṫi’ is a state of the art museum designed and curated by the Dakotah people. Our group will take a tour of the exhibits with a private guide to interpret and explain the displays. We will meet at the museum entrance. The cost is $7.00/person payable at the museum. We will gather afterwards to discuss and process what we learned.

Eden Prairie has one of the largest Somali populations in the United States. Joel became friends with some of the leaders of the community while he was a pastor in Eden Prairie. The rich and diverse life from the Horn of Africa has gifted our world. He along with representatives of the Somali community will share the backgrounds and beliefs of this Muslim east African country.
